In order to score high in IELTS Writing Task 2, candidates must show an ability to organise their thoughts clearly in a structure. This means writing in paragraphs. Unfortunately, some candidates feel that it is enough to just leave a line after the last sentence or put in some spacing after the last paragraph. In good writing, there is structure within a text; and in a text, there is structure within a paragraph. To get at least a Band 7 in IELTS Writing Task 2, candidates must present “a clear central topic within each paragraph“.
